Thursday night tradition continues

After a week off due to nothing worth watching, my new Thursday night tradition of going to the movie theater continued this week. This time, I caught Shrek the Third.

I am one of the few people I have talked to that liked the first Shrek better than the second movie. That point is important, because I think the third movie is better than the second, but not as good as the first.

I thought the story was better than the second movie, and I really liked the message that this one had. Beyond that, the animation was fantastic, almost too realistic for a Shrek movie. But as usual, the characters were fun, particularly the new ones or the ones who didn't get much screen time in the previous movies.

And the scene where Pinochio is trying not to give away Shrek's location while not telling a lie was a classic. There was a hint of that in one of the trailers, but the movie's version was great.

I'm trying to decide whether to keep my tradition alive next week. There is only one movie on at the $1.50 theater that I am curious about seeing, but I haven't decided yet if I am going to see it yet. Still, whether I keep it next week or not, I don't think it will be long before I go back.
