Aug. 9, 2003 - A few days prior to this, we noticed that they had started paving streets in our subdivision. Now, they had gotten to our house.

Aug. 16, 2003 - A look from the back of our lot to the front. You can see the model homes being constructed in the background.

Aug. 23, 2003 - This made us mad a bit. By this point, the construction of our house was being pushed farther and farther back. But even though we didn't have a house, the park was starting to go in.

Aug. 23, 2003 - One significant improvement was the installation of street signs. Here you can see the sign that is closest to our house. The progress of the models is both encouraging and disheartening.

Sept. 6, 2003 - The first sign of progress to our lot beyond dirt moving. This bed of gravel is put in for construction purposes, although it is close to where our driveway will eventually be.

Sept. 16, 2003 - I came out over lunch and saw that they had dug a trench for our foundation.

Sept. 16, 2003 - I came out later that evening after work and saw that they had filled in the trench with cement. The first 'concrete" evidence of progress.

Sept. 26, 2003 - The blocks have been installed and the plumbing is being worked on. You can see the progress of houses across the street. At one point, we were told that we would be the first house in the subdivision to be framed. Obviously, that didn't

Sept. 30, 2003 - The concrete for our slab has been poured. Once that sets, they can start working on the frame. It is possible we will still be in the house by Christmas, but that is looking less and less likely as the days go by.

Sept. 30, 2003 - By the time I got off work for the day, the concrete was done. Now all we could do was wait for the concrete to harden.

Oct. 6, 2003 - The first shipment of lumber to our lot.. The concrete has hardened sufficiently and work will soon start on the frame.

Oct. 7, 2003 - Construction on the frame started sooner than I thought, and it moved quickly. Most of the exterior for the first floor is up already. Things will start moving quickly now. But will we be in by the end of the year?
